Jazz Tailgate Hall Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Honda Jazz owner experienced an issue where the tailgate wouldn't fully open, accompanied by an error related to the tailgate hall sensor. The suspected cause was a faulty cable or plug connection. After inspecting the wiring and plugs without finding obvious issues, it was suggested that the problem might be in the wiring harness, particularly where it flexes near the hinge. A workshop visit confirmed a defective wire in the harness, which was repaired for 95€.

Thanks for the tip! I've visually inspected the wiring and plugs near the sensor, but didn't see anything obvious. Any specific areas on the harness that are known trouble spots?

On the 307, it was always where the harness flexed near the hinge – constant opening and closing wears them down. But honestly, sensors can be tricky. For 95€, it's almost worth letting a shop diagnose it. They'll have the right tools to pinpoint the break in the 'road'. Save yourself the headache!

Took your advice and went to a workshop. They confirmed it was indeed a defective wire in the harness. Repair cost me 95€, exactly as you predicted. Thanks for the help!

Sounds familiar! Had a similar gremlin with my old Peugeot 307. These little sensors are often the first to complain. Think of it like this: the sensor is the messenger, and the wiring is the road it travels. A broken road means the message doesn't get through! Have you checked the wiring harness for any obvious damage or corrosion?
