Jeep Commander HVAC System Completely Dead

Thanks for the detailed feedback. At 178990 KM, my Commander has been regularly serviced, with the last maintenance done 2 months ago. After reading your reply, I checked the blower motor and noticed a faint clicking sound when turning the system on. No noise after that. The error codes showing are P0532 and B1411 which started appearing last week. The interesting part is that other electrical connectors and systems work perfectly fine. Just the HVAC system and climate control are affected. The air conditioning was working great until it suddenly stopped during a regular drive. Given the difference in symptoms from your case, it seems my issue might be more related to the control module itself rather than the wiring harness. Would you agree?

Based on those error codes and symptoms, my initial diagnosis of a wiring harness issue might not be accurate for your case. After dealing with my Commander's problems and seeing your description, I suspect you are facing a failing control module. The P0532 code typically indicates a low pressure in the AC system, while B1411 points to a communication problem with the climate control module. The clicking sound from the blower motor without further operation suggests the control module is attempting to engage but failing to maintain operation. In my case, after replacing the wiring harness, I still had intermittent issues. The actual fix required: Replacing the climate control module (320 Euro), Recharging the AC system, Performing a system reset using diagnostic equipment The power supply to the control panel was fine, but the module itself had failed. The sudden stop during driving matches what happened with my vehicle, it is a common failure pattern for these modules. Before proceeding with module replacement, have your technician verify: The power supply voltages to the control module, The refrigerant pressure levels, The integrity of the electrical connections at the module The repair should resolve both error codes and restore full HVAC system functionality.

Thanks everyone for the insights. After getting my Commander checked at the shop, it turned out to be exactly what the last reply suggested, a faulty climate control module. The mechanic confirmed both error codes were directly related to the module failure. The total repair included: New climate control module (295 Euro), System diagnostic and reset, AC system pressure check and recharge The blower motor, electrical connectors, and other HVAC system components were all working properly. The clicking sound I heard was indeed the system trying to engage but failing due to the bad module. After the replacement, all climate control functions are working perfectly again. The air conditioning blows cold, heat works great, and the control panel is fully responsive. Total repair time was about 3 hours and definitely worth fixing properly rather than trying temporary solutions. Really appreciate the guidance from others who experienced similar issues. Having this information helped me better understand the problem and discuss it more effectively with the repair shop.

I had a similar issue with my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee last winter. With some experience working on climate control systems, I can share what worked for me. The symptoms were identical, completely dead climate control panel and no HVAC response. After initial diagnosis, the problem turned out to be a damaged wiring harness connection to the blower motor control module. The insulation had worn through, causing a short circuit that affected the entire system. The repair involved: Testing the temperature sensor connections, Replacing a section of the wiring harness, Recalibrating the climate control module Total repair cost was 95 Euro at my regular workshop. The air conditioning and heating systems worked perfectly after the fix. The job took about 2 hours to complete. To provide more specific guidance for your case, could you share: Any specific error codes showing up? Does the blower motor make any noise when you try to activate it? Have you noticed any electrical issues with other systems? When did the problem first start? This information would help determine if you are dealing with the same root cause or potentially a different issue.
