Last service was completed at 120954 KM and revealed a significant detail, the door sensor connectors showed signs of corrosion during inspection. I had the same thoughts about the wiring harness, but before going that route, the door latch assembly should be checked first since its a common failure point in these models. This could be an important clue in diagnosing the electrical issue with the central locking system. Going to have the door switch connections tested before considering more extensive repairs. Thanks for sharing your repair costs and troubleshooting steps. The central locking motor is making a faint clicking sound, but nothing happens. All doors are affected and no error messages show up on the dash. Alarm system works normally so far.

Just saw your update about the corrosion on the door sensor connectors. Based on my repair experience with my Jeep Renegade, corroded connectors are often the root cause rather than a complete wiring harness failure. When my automatic locks failed, the door switch connections also showed similar corrosion patterns. The faint clicking from the central locking motor is actually a good sign. It indicates the main system is trying to respond, which matches what I experienced before the repair. The fact that your car alarm still works normally also suggests the core wiring harness is likely intact. In my case, cleaning and reseating the corroded door sensor connections resolved most issues. The workshop also applied dielectric grease to prevent future corrosion. This was much more cost-effective than replacing the entire door latch mechanism or wiring harness. Would recommend having the connections cleaned and tested first. The complete door switch assembly only needs replacement if cleaning doesnt restore proper contact. Watch out for signs of water ingress around the door seals, as this often causes these connection problems.

Looking at my latest Jeep Compass update, the corrosion on door sensor connectors definitely seems like the prime suspect. The similar clicking sound from the central locking motor that you experienced with your Renegade matches my symptoms exactly. Since my door sensors already showed corrosion during the last service at 120954 KM, this electrical issue with the locks makes perfect sense now. The fact that my car alarm works normally and theres no complete failure of the wiring harness is reassuring. Going to start with cleaning those corroded connections and having the door switch assembly tested. If that doesnt work, will move on to checking the door latch mechanism. Much more comfortable now knowing this could be fixed without a major wiring harness replacement. Will schedule the connection cleaning and testing first thing. The repair costs you mentioned seem reasonable compared to what I was worried about. Thanks for helping identify a logical starting point for the diagnosis.

Having dealt with a similar door lock issue on my 2019 Jeep Renegade Hybrid, I can share my experience. As someone with moderate experience working on cars, I initially thought it was the door latch assembly, but it turned out to be simpler. The problem was traced to a faulty wire connection between the door switch and the central locking system. The car alarm would occasionally trigger without reason, which was another symptom pointing to the connection issue. The automatic locks stopped responding completely, just like in your case. My repair involved replacing a damaged wire connector and resoldering a loose connection in the door wiring. Total cost was 95 Euro including diagnostic time. The workshop completed everything in about 2 hours. Before suggesting specific fixes, could you share: Are you getting any error messages on the dashboard? Does this affect all doors or just one specific door? Can you hear the central locking motor trying to work when you press the key fob? Have you noticed any issues with the car alarm system? This information would help determine if your issue matches what I experienced with my car sensor system.
