Juke Engine Misfire
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Nissan Juke with approximately 123,000 km was experiencing rough engine performance, a check engine light, and reduced power, suggesting a potential cylinder misfire. Possible causes included faulty spark plugs, ignition coils, or fuel injectors. After consulting a mechanic, the issue was identified as a defective fuel injector, which was subsequently replaced, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the spark plugs yet, but I did have a mechanic take a quick look and he mentioned something about the fuel injectors possibly being the problem. I don't have an OBD2 scanner myself, but if the injectors are the most likely suspect, is there anything I can do to confirm that without one?

Given the symptoms you described and the mechanic's initial assessment, a defective fuel injector is a probable cause, especially with the mileage you have on your Juke. Unfortunately, without diagnostic tools, it's difficult to definitively confirm. I would recommend taking it to a reputable workshop for a thorough diagnosis and repair. Continuing to drive with a misfire can cause further damage.

Thanks a bunch for the advice! I took it to a local garage, and it turned out to be a faulty fuel injector on one of the cylinders, just like you suspected. Replaced it, and the car is running smoothly again. The bill came to 515€, ouch! But at least it's fixed now.

Combustion misfires can stem from multiple causes. Have you checked the spark plugs recently? A faulty ignition coil could also be the culprit. It would be helpful to know which cylinder is misfiring, if you have access to an OBD2 scanner. Also, when was the last time you had your fuel injectors cleaned or inspected?
