Juke Overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Nissan Juke diesel is experiencing severe overheating, with the check engine light on and the radiator fan not functioning. The suspected cause is a faulty speed sensor preventing the fan from activating. After consulting with others and checking for obstructions, the owner takes the vehicle to a workshop, where the issue is confirmed to be the speed sensor, which is then repaired.

Good shout! I gave the fan blades a quick once-over, but didn't see anything obvious jamming them. When yours overheated, did the fan just completely die, or was it making some ungodly noise first? Also, did your mechanic say anything about a sensor?

Mine wasn't making any noise, it just flat-out stopped working. I fiddled around with it, but quickly realized it was beyond me. To be honest, I'd just take it to a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly and save you a load of potential headaches.

Cheers! I appreciate the input. I bit the bullet and took it to a shop like you suggested. Turns out it WAS a faulty speed sensor causing the radiator fan to die. Cost me 250€ to get it sorted, but at least the Juke's back on the road and not trying to become a mobile furnace. Thanks again!

Sounds familiar! I've got a Juke too, although not sure about the year, and I had similar overheating issues. My mechanic said it was also related to the radiator fan. Did you check the fan blades for any obstructions, maybe something is stuck in there?
