Juke Oxygen Sensor Error

I have a 2023 Nissan Juke hybrid, and the check engine light keeps popping up. My fuel consumption seems to be getting worse. A local mechanic said there's an error stored in the error memory related to the oxygen sensor. Could a defective cable or plug connection to the oxygen sensor be the cause?

Could be the O2 sensor itself, but a bad connection is definitely a possibility, especially with those symptoms. How many kilometers are on your Juke?

I've put 148267 km on it so far. If it is just the connection, is there a way to check that myself before replacing the entire sensor?

At that mileage, the O2 sensor could just be aged. Yeah, you could try checking the connection, but honestly, for the cost of the sensor and potential hassle, it might be best to just get it checked out at a workshop. They have the right tools to diagnose it properly.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right; the aged oxygen sensor caused the problem. The cable and plug connection was indeed defective. Total cost was 95€, and now the check engine light is off, and my fuel efficiency is back to normal!
