Jumper DPF Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Citroen Jumper with 53,000 km is experiencing reduced engine power and excessive exhaust smoke, potentially due to diesel particulate filter (DPF) issues. The symptoms suggest possible excessive backpressure or failed regeneration cycles, although no engine light has appeared yet. A common cause could be a faulty differential pressure or temperature sensor preventing proper DPF regeneration. It is advised to visit a workshop for diagnostics and potential repairs to prevent further engine damage.

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't been able to force a regeneration cycle, as I don't have the diagnostic tools for that. Is there a particular sensor that commonly fails and causes this? I'd like to check that before I end up replacing the whole DPF. Is it something I can check myself?

Unfortunately, without proper diagnostics, pinpointing the exact sensor is tricky. The differential pressure sensor is a common culprit, but it could also be a temperature sensor. My advice, considering the potential for further damage, is to take it to a reputable workshop. A blocked DPF can cause serious engine issues if left untreated. I ended up spending 1550€ to replace the DPF.

Right, I appreciate the input. Sounds like a workshop visit is unavoidable. I'll get it checked out ASAP to avoid any further damage. Thanks again for sharing your experience; it's really helpful to have some idea of what to expect.

I have a Jumper too, and your symptoms sound awfully familiar. When was the last time your DPF properly regenerated? The smoke, combined with power loss, is a classic sign. Have you checked for any sensor faults related to the DPF? It could be a faulty sensor preventing regeneration, which in turn clogs the filter.
