Jumper Oil Level Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Citroen Jumper with a gasoline engine is experiencing a persistent oil level sensor error, indicated by a warning light and error messages on the speedometer. The issue is suspected to be caused by a faulty sensor or a problem with the wiring or plug connections. The suggested solution is to inspect and clean the sensor and its connections, but ultimately, the problem was resolved by replacing the defective oil level sensor at a workshop.

Thanks for the tip! It's pretty constant, to be honest. I haven't hooked it up to a scanner myself yet, but the mechanic mentioned something about a faulty signal. Where exactly is the oil level sensor located on these things? I want to double-check the wiring myself before I throw money at it.

Okay, if it's constant, and you're getting a 'faulty signal' reading, then yeah, the sensor or its wiring is the prime suspect. Honestly, given the symptoms and the age of the van, you are probably best off taking it to a workshop. I ended up doing that in the end myself. They sorted it quickly.

Cheers! I appreciate the advice. Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a defective oil level sensor that was causing all the trouble. The mechanic replaced it, and the error messages are gone. Cost me 95€, but at least it's sorted.

I had a similar issue on my Jumper. Is it intermittent, or is it constant? I'd start by checking the sensor itself and the wiring leading to it. Give the plug a good clean with some contact cleaner and make sure all the connections are solid. What kind of readings are you getting from the sensor when you scan the error memory?
