Jumpy Active Hood Fault

Impact? Nah, nothing like that. Hood latch seems okay too. So, what exactly went wrong with your Volvo? Was it expensive to fix, and does it relate to the acceleration sensor?

In my case, the issue stemmed from a faulty acceleration sensor. The car thought it detected a pedestrian impact, triggering the active hood system. A diagnostic check at the workshop confirmed it and a sensor replacement resolved the problem. I would strongly recommend you to have your car properly diagnosed. It might be the defective acceleration sensor, like in my instance.

Sounds like a trip to the shop is in order then. Will get that acceleration sensor checked out. It was exactly that, new sensor fitted and all in for 315€. Thanks!

Interesting issue. I had something similar happen with my 2018 Volvo XC60. Are you experiencing any other unusual behavior, like difficulty with the hood latch itself, or any signs of a recent minor impact? These systems often rely on impact sensors, and a false reading could trigger the active hood and airbag warnings.
