Yep, same symptoms. Unfortunately, it does sound like a defective heating mat as you suspected. Best bet is to take it to a workshop to have a look.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I feared as much, but it's reassuring to hear someone else experienced the same. I took it to a workshop and it was the heating mat that failed. It cost me 390€ including parts and labor. Expensive, but at least I'm warm again!

I had a similar problem with my Jumpy. Was it the driver's seat? And did the error message point specifically to the heating element?
