Jumpy electronic parking brake issue

I've got a 2001 Citroen Jumpy, gasoline engine, and the electronic parking brake is giving me grief. The handbrake isn't working at all, just a light on the dash. Hooked it up to a reader and yeah, error stored in the memory. From what I've been reading online, seems like it might be the electric motor in the brake caliper. Anyone else had this issue?

Summary of the thread

A 2001 Citroen Jumpy is experiencing issues with its electronic parking brake, indicated by a constant warning light on the dashboard and an error code stored in the memory. The problem is suspected to be related to the electric motor in the brake caliper. While checking the brake switch or sensors could be beneficial, the symptoms and error code suggest the motor is likely the issue. It is recommended to have a professional workshop handle the repair to avoid further complications.

Yep, sounds familiar. Those electric parking brakes can be a pain. Is the warning light constantly on, or does it flicker? Have you tried checking the brake switch or any of the sensors related to the parking brake system? Sometimes it's a simple connection issue.

The light is constantly on, not flickering. I haven't messed with the switch or sensors yet, to be honest. Figured if there was an error code, it was probably the motor itself. But I'm no expert. Where exactly is the brake switch located? Is it easy to get to?

Okay, constant light points more towards the motor being the culprit, but it never hurts to double-check. The switch is usually near the handbrake lever itself. But honestly, with those symptoms and the error code, you're probably right about the motor. If you're not comfortable digging in yourself, best bet is to take it to a workshop. The repair will probably run you around 505€, but it's better than messing with the brakes yourself and making things worse.

Thanks for the advice! I was hoping it was something simple, but I figured it was probably the motor. Yeah, I'm not trying to mess around with the brakes too much. I'll take it to a shop and get it sorted. Appreciate the help!
