Jumpy sporadic errors and system failures

Experiencing sporadic errors with my 2008 Citroen Jumpy, gasoline engine. Driving mode occasionally throws a fit, error lamps illuminate randomly. Various systems, mostly audio/navigation, appear to be failing with temporary shutdowns and unresponsive control units. An error is stored. Anyone encountered such malfunctions? Where should I start?

That sounds like a headache. I had similar gremlins in my 2012 Opel Insignia. Different make, but the symptoms mirror what you describe. Did you read the error codes with a scan tool?

I ran a scan, yielding multiple codes pointing towards different modules. Given the range of seemingly unrelated system failures, I'm hesitant to just start replacing parts. You mentioned similar issues with your Opel – did you isolate a single, underlying cause?

After much head-scratching, the root cause was traced to a defective cable connection to the BUS system affecting several control units. The error codes were misleading because the faulty connection was causing communication issues across various systems. Given your symptoms, a workshop visit may be in order to check the main harness and connections to your control module.

Thank you for sharing your experience. A defective connection to the BUS system aligns with the issues. I will take it to a workshop to test the connections. Turns out the cable connection of the control unit was indeed defective. The repair cost me 155€. I really appreciate your insights!
