Ka airbag warning light

Hi, I've got a 2016 Ford Ka, diesel engine, with about 85000km on the clock. Recently the airbag warning lamp has been lighting up on the speedometer. Any ideas what could be causing this? I haven't had any accidents.

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my old Volvo V70. The airbag light kept popping on. Turns out it was a dodgy connection in one of the wiring harnesses under the seat. Have you tried checking the connections to the airbags and crash sensors? It could just be a loose plug.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly are the airbag connections and crash sensors located? Is it something I can easily check myself, or is it best left to a professional?

Well, on my Volvo, the connections were under the front seats and also behind the glove compartment. The crash sensors are usually near the front of the car, like behind the bumper. Honestly, messing with airbags is a bit like defusing a bomb – one wrong move and you could have a bad day. Given it could be a simple connection issue, it's worth having a workshop take a look. I wouldn't want you to accidentally trigger the airbags!

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on! Turns out it was a defective plug connection. They sorted it out for 95€, so not too bad. Appreciate the help!
