Ka Audio System Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Ford Ka's audio system is completely non-functional, with no sound or display activity, and an error code indicating an 'audio system malfunction.' Exactly! Like someone hit the mute button on the whole car! The volume control does nothing, and the display is totally blank. The error code I pulled was vague, just something about 'audio system malfunction'. Did your symptoms match? Did you figure out what was causing it?

Yep, that's exactly what happened to mine. Blank display, no sound, nothing. Sadly, I couldn't fix it myself. Turned out the display unit itself was defective, according to the workshop. Cost me an arm and a leg to replace. You should probably get it checked out by a professional.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I'm headed for the same expensive fate. I was hoping it was just a loose connection or something simple, but a defective display makes sense. I'll book it in for a proper diagnosis. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Ka (petrol too). Radio, CD, Bluetooth, the whole sound system just quit. Is it like someone muted the car? Have you tried fiddling with the volume control? Is there any sign of life on the display at all?
