Ka check engine light and stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Ford Ka experienced a check engine light and stalling at idle, with diagnostics indicating a fuel composition error. The problem was suspected to be caused by a bad cable or plug. A similar issue in another vehicle was attributed to fuel contamination affecting the combustion chamber. Upon inspection, a workshop confirmed the problem was due to a faulty connection causing incorrect fuel mixture readings, along with fuel contamination.

Fuel contamination? Could that cause these specific issues, especially when the error codes indicate the car misreads the fuel composition?

It did in my case. The error codes were misleading. The issue was fuel contamination affecting the combustion chamber. Inspect it thoroughly, but a workshop check might be best.

Thanks! The workshop confirmed a faulty connection causing an incorrect fuel mixture reading, plus fuel contamination. Repair cost was 95€. Your insight was invaluable!

Sounds familiar. My old Opel Corsa had similar symptoms: check engine light, rough idle, and fuel mixture error codes. Maybe fuel contamination?
