An actuator? Where is that located, and how difficult is it to check? The steering wheel is undamaged. Never been in an accident.

Based on my documentation, the actuator is located in the steering wheel column. Whilst it is technically possible to check it yourself if qualified, I would advise against unqualified adjustments. From what I recall of the Clio fiasco, the error memory may have to be reset. I suggest scheduling a service appointment with a qualified workshop.

Thanks for the help! Sounds like it's over my head. I'll take it to a shop. It was indeed a defective connector – cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the advice!

I had a similar issue with my mother's 2012 Renault Clio diesel. The symptoms correlate with a defective cable connection or a malfunctioning plug. Although the root cause in my case was another problem, the error looks similar. It might be worth investigating the actuator. Was the vehicle subject to any steering wheel damage?
