Coolant level looks fine. Is it easy to check for a blockage myself, or am I better off just taking it to a mechanic? I'm not super confident messing with the cooling system.

Yeah, messing with the cooling system can be tricky. Given the error code and the low heat, a faulty water valve is pretty likely, and if it's an electrical issue with the plug, it's best left to a professional to diagnose properly. I ended up taking mine in. Best to bite the bullet, I reckon.

Thanks a lot for the advice! Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was indeed a defective water valve, and the dodgy connection was the culprit. Cost me 95€ all in. Cheers!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my Ford Ka a while back. Weak heat and error codes pointed to the cooling system. Have you checked the engine coolant level? A blockage or air in the system can also mimic those symptoms.
