Ka immobilizer issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Ford Ka diesel is experiencing starting issues, with the engine briefly firing up before dying, and an error related to the immobilizer is detected. The problem may be due to incorrect key programming, as indicated by the flashing security light. The suggested solution is to have the key reprogrammed at a workshop, which resolved a similar issue for another owner.

Yeah, the security light does flash. So it was definitely the immobilizer for you too? What exactly was the problem? Ignition control?

Yep, immobilizer fault. Best bet is to take it to a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly. Mine needed a reprogram and that sorted it out.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a garage and they confirmed it was the key programming. Cost me 45€ to get it sorted.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my Ka. Does the security light flash when you try to start it? It could be a key signal issue. Car electronics can be a pain, I know.
