Ka seat heating malfunction

My 2005 Ford Ka (gasoline engine) seat heating isn't working. Odometer's at 210587 km. There's an error code, and I think it's the heating mat. Anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2005 Ford Ka experienced a seat heating malfunction, suspected to be due to a defective heating mat. An error code indicated a general heating circuit malfunction. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the heating mat, which was confirmed as the cause after inspection. The replacement successfully restored the seat heating function.

I had a similar problem with my Ka. Does the error code specifically point to the heating element? Have you checked the thermal sensor? In my case, the seat cushion was also partially damaged.

The error code just says general heating circuit malfunction, nothing about the sensor. What kind of damage was your seat cushion, and how did it relate to the heating?

Okay, in my case, the damage caused a short circuit. Given your description, it seems likely that your heating mat is indeed defective. Considering the error code and mileage, I'd suggest a visit to a workshop.

Thanks for the insight. I had it inspected, like you said. Turns out the seat heating mat was defective. Replaced it for 390€. It's working now.
