Kadjar AC not cooling
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Renault Kadjar's air conditioning system stopped cooling, and the system didn't seem to switch on. Possible causes discussed included a faulty AC relay or more complex issues like faulty valves within the AC system. After checking the relay and finding no unusual noises, it was suggested to have the system diagnosed professionally. The issue was eventually traced to faulty valves in the AC system, which were repaired at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply. No unusual noise, and I haven't checked the AC relay yet – where is it typically located in the Kadjar? The temperature control for heat seems to be working fine.

Okay, no noise is good. The AC relay location should be in the engine compartment's fuse box; check your manual for the exact location. Since the heating works, it's less likely to be a general climate control issue. Honestly, without proper AC diagnostics, you might be chasing ghosts. Considering it just stopped working and it's not the relay, I'd suggest getting it checked by a workshop before throwing parts at it. It could be individual valves inside the AC system. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and indeed, some valves in the AC system were faulty, as you suspected. Repair cost me around 1000€. Appreciate the help!

Hey! Sorry to hear about your AC woes. It could be a few things, unfortunately. Is there any unusual noise when you try to switch on the AC? Have you checked the AC relay? Often, a faulty relay can prevent the compressor from engaging. Also, is your temperature control working properly otherwise?
