Kadjar check engine light air valve issue

Hi, I've got a 2018 Renault Kadjar with a gasoline engine and I'm having some trouble. The check engine light keeps coming on. I've checked the air intake, and I suspect it might be an air valve issue, maybe a vacuum leak somewhere. I've tried to find any obvious cracks or loose connections, but no luck so far. Mileage is at 184067 km. Any ideas?

Hey there. A check engine light plus suspected air valve issue on a Kadjar could be a few things. Does the engine idle rough? I'd suggest checking the hose connection from the pump to the valve itself. Those can get brittle over time. Have you noticed any change in fuel consumption?

Thanks for the tip! I haven't noticed any rough idling, and fuel consumption seems normal. Where exactly is that hose connection located? I'm not super familiar with the engine layout.

Okay, if idle and fuel are normal, that's helpful. The hose runs from the air pump, usually near the front of the engine, to the valve on the intake manifold. Since you're not too familiar with the engine, I'd advise against messing with it too much. A workshop can diagnose the leak quickly. Likely a defective hose connection from pump to valve. Get a quote beforehand though!

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local mechanic, and you were spot on. It was indeed a defective hose connection from the pump to the valve. Repair cost me 175€. Appreciate the help!
