Kadjar Check Powertrain ABS Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Renault Kadjar diesel with 95,000 km was experiencing a 'Check Powertrain' warning and limp mode, with gearbox slipping and rough shifting. The issue was suspected to be linked to a faulty ABS control module, which can cause cascading problems affecting the transfer case. The solution involved diagnosing and replacing a faulty ABS sensor, resolving the gearbox issues, and was covered under a warranty extension.

No ABS light, just the 'Check Powertrain' message and the limp mode. The gearbox issues are the most noticeable thing. What exactly was the fix for your Renault?

On the Renault it was a faulty ABS sensor throwing off the whole system, which then messed with the traction control and gearbox. Best bet is get it hooked up to a proper diagnostic tool. Could be a cheap fix, could be a new transfer case. Workshop time, I reckon.

Thanks for the info! I got it sorted - turns out you were spot on with the ABS suspicion. A faulty ABS sensor was the culprit. After replacing it, all the other issues disappeared. The best part? All covered by the warranty extension, so it didn't cost me a cent!

Yep, sounds familiar. Had a similar nightmare with my Renault Kadjar. 'Traction control failure' and then all sorts of gearbox weirdness. Turns out ABS faults can trigger all sorts of consequential issues. Is your ABS light on, too?
