Kadjar Check Powertrain ABS Fault

I'm getting seriously stressed. I have a 2019 Renault Kadjar diesel with about 95,000km on the clock. Lately, it's throwing up a 'Check Powertrain' warning and feels like it's gone into limp mode. The gearbox is slipping and shifting really roughly. I've read somewhere that a faulty ABS control module can cause all sorts of weird problems that cascade into the transfer case. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Yep, sounds familiar. Had a similar nightmare with my Renault Kadjar. 'Traction control failure' and then all sorts of gearbox weirdness. Turns out ABS faults can trigger all sorts of consequential issues. Is your ABS light on, too?

No ABS light, just the 'Check Powertrain' message and the limp mode. The gearbox issues are the most noticeable thing. What exactly was the fix for your Renault?

On the Renault it was a faulty ABS sensor throwing off the whole system, which then messed with the traction control and gearbox. Best bet is get it hooked up to a proper diagnostic tool. Could be a cheap fix, could be a new transfer case. Workshop time, I reckon.

Thanks for the info! I got it sorted - turns out you were spot on with the ABS suspicion. A faulty ABS sensor was the culprit. After replacing it, all the other issues disappeared. The best part? All covered by the warranty extension, so it didn't cost me a cent!
