Good shout on the water pump, hadn't thought of that! I'll check that tomorrow. But what if it's something electrical? Could a dodgy sensor cause the coolant level to appear low?

Hmm, a sensor issue could be the culprit, but those are usually pretty reliable. If you can't spot any leaks, it might be worth getting it checked. The error code could help pinpoint the problem. Don't want to risk overheating!

Thanks a lot for the advice! Turns out it was a defective cable connection to a component. Cost me 95€ to get fixed. Appreciate the help!

Low coolant and a check engine light definitely sounds annoying! Did you check for any visible leaks around the water pump or thermostat housing? Maybe even under the car after it's been parked a while?
