Kadjar Cruise Control Failure

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2015 Renault Kadjar diesel. The cruise control just stopped working! A message pops up in the speedometer, and the cruise control is totally non-functional. I even checked the error memory, and there's definitely an error stored there. Anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking it might be a dodgy cable or plug connection somewhere, maybe related to the actuator or steering wheel controls? I had a look at the fuse box, but all fuses seem fine. Any ideas before I take it to a mechanic?

Good day. Cruise control malfunctions can be quite complex. Given the symptoms and error message, a defective connection is plausible. However, without diagnostic equipment, pinpointing the exact location is challenging. Have you noticed any other electrical issues accompanying this problem? Does the error appear consistently, or intermittently? If the error is intermittent, testing the continuity of the wires while wiggling them might make sense.

Thanks! The error's pretty consistent, comes on every time I try to engage the cruise control. No other electrical issues that I've noticed, thankfully. When you say 'continuity of the wires', which wires are you referring to exactly? Are we talking about the ones going to the steering wheel controls, or something else?

Given the consistency, a professional diagnosis is warranted. While DIY checks are commendable, modern systems are integrated. The issue could stem from the steering wheel controls, the actuator itself, or the engine control unit. Without proper tools, further investigation risks exacerbating the problem. For example, the error might point you to the actuator, but in fact, the actuator receives an incorrect signal. A visit to a qualified workshop is advisable to accurately identify and resolve the root cause.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right, it needed a pro. Turns out it was a dodgy connector, just like I suspected, but it was buried deep! They charged me 95€ to fix it. Cruise control is working again now. Thanks again!
