Kadjar Defective Mass Air Flow Meter
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Renault Kadjar with a gasoline engine is experiencing increased fuel consumption, stalling at idle, and smoke during acceleration, with the check engine light on. These symptoms suggest a defective mass air flow meter (LMM) as the likely cause. It is recommended to inspect the air filter and intake for blockages, and if the issue persists, consider replacing the mass air flow sensor. A replacement has been ordered to address the problem.

Thanks for the input. Regarding the Opel Insignia, was the root cause definitively the mass air flow sensor? I will inspect the air filter and intake as you suggested. If the issue persists, I want to confirm the LMM diagnosis.

Yeah, it turned out to be the mass air flow sensor in the end. Tried cleaning it, but it didn't help for long. If cleaning doesn't work, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed and replaced. Saved me a lot of headache in the long run.

I appreciate the confirmation. I have ordered a replacement LMM. The total cost, including labor, is estimated at 365€. Thanks for sharing your experience; it was instrumental in confirming my diagnosis.

Hey, that sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my old Opel Insignia. The check engine light was on, and the engine would sometimes cut out, especially when idling. Did you check the air filter and the air intake? Could be some blockage messing with the air-fuel ratio.
