Kadjar diesel engine water sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Renault Kadjar with a diesel engine is experiencing a check engine light and rough running, with an error indicating a water sensor fault. The issue is likely related to a cable or plug connection problem with the sensor, rather than a major engine issue. It is recommended to have a workshop inspect the wiring and sensor connections, with potential replacement if corrosion or damage is found.

Hey, thanks for your reply. Yes, the error was specific to the water sensor. The mileage is currently at 214771 km. Does this information help you?

Okay, with that mileage and a direct water sensor error, it strongly points to a cable or plug connection issue with the sensor itself. Given the symptoms, it's unlikely to be a catastrophic engine problem but is best checked by qualified technician. I'd advise having a workshop inspect the wiring and sensor connections. Be prepared for potential replacement if corrosion or damage is evident. A diagnostic check and repair should hopefully resolve it. If the fault is a defective cable or plug connection of the component, you should expect costs around 95€

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation! I'll take it to a workshop and have them check the wiring and connections as you suggested. Hopefully, it will be an easy fix, thanks again!

Hello! I've had a similar issue with my Kadjar, although I'm not sure if it's the exact same year. Was the error code specifically pointing to the water sensor's circuit, or was it a more general sensor fault? Also, do you know the mileage?
