Kadjar Engine Overheating

I'm having a weird issue with my 2018 Renault Kadjar diesel. It's got 203339 km on the clock. I'm getting engine overheating, the check engine light is on, and I found coolant under the car. Seems like excessive pressure in the cooling system is causing a spill. I suspect a control unit communication error. I ran a diagnostic and it points towards a faulty cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Sounds familiar. I had something like that with my Kadjar too. Was there any recent work done on the car? Perhaps around the engine bay?

No, no recent work that I can remember. What was your fix? Do you remember what the diagnostic trouble code was?

Mine turned out to be a software glitch in the control module causing miscommunication between sensors. A reflash didn't fix it, had to get the unit replaced. If you suspect a defective connection it could be the same root cause as mine but a different manifestation. You could try to check all connections, but I'd just get it checked by a workshop. It cost me about 95€.
