Kadjar key battery warning

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2018 Renault Kadjar diesel, around 146998 km on the clock. The dashboard keeps displaying a 'key battery low' warning. Consequently, the keyless access is no longer functional, and there's an error stored. Unlocking and locking the car is also becoming unreliable. Could the key battery really be the only culprit?

In my case, yes, it was that simple. New battery, problem solved. It’s worth a shot before you start looking at more complex and costly solutions. However, if the issue persists, it's best to consult a workshop. They can run diagnostics to rule out other potential problems.

Thank you for the advice! I replaced the key fob battery, and that indeed solved the issue. The keyless entry is working again, and the error message has disappeared. The whole ordeal cost me 37€ for the battery and installation.
