Kadjar weak heating

I've got a 2020 Renault Kadjar diesel with 178117 km on the clock. Recently, the heating has been pretty weak, barely blowing warm air. I scanned for errors and found one related to the water valve. I'm thinking it might be a dodgy connection or plug. Anyone else had a similar issue?

Hey there! I had almost the exact same problem with my 2016 Opel Insignia last year. Weak heating, error code pointing to the water valve. In my case, it turned out to be a blockage in the valve itself. Have you checked if the valve is opening and closing properly? The water valve is used to control the flow of engine coolant to the heater core. The heater core is like a mini radiator located inside your car's dashboard. It is responsible for providing heat to the cabin.

Thanks for the info! How did you check if it was opening and closing properly? Is it something I can do myself, or do I need special tools?

Well, on my Insignia, the valve was relatively accessible. I could see the actuator moving when I adjusted the temperature controls. If you can't see it easily, or you're not comfortable poking around, it might be best to get a workshop to take a look. They can properly diagnose the issue and replace the valve if needed. The mechanic will probably check the cable or plug connection first. It might cost around 95€.

Appreciate the advice! I've booked it in with a local mechanic. They're going to check the valve and connections. Hopefully, it's a simple fix. I'll let you know what happens.
