Kalos Fault Memory Lock Active
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Chevrolet Kalos is experiencing a "fault memory lock active" error, potentially due to an undervoltage issue. The problem is intermittent, suggesting possible causes like battery or alternator issues, or a corroded connection. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a corroded ground strap. Ultimately, a workshop visit confirmed the undervoltage, reset the active memory, and cleared the codes, resolving the issue.

Intermittent, yeah. Battery seems ok, but how deep did you have to go with your Astra to sort it?

Deep enough. Eventually found a corroded ground strap causing voltage drops. The Astra's electrics were a nightmare. Honestly, unless you're really keen on digging, might be worth getting it hooked up to a proper diagnostics machine at a workshop. Save yourself the headache.

Cheers. Workshop it is. Code read, undervoltage confirmed. They reset the active memory and cleared the codes. 240€ lighter, but all good now.

Sounds familiar. Had similar gremlins with my old Opel Astra. Is it constantly flagging errors, or just intermittently? The undervoltage thing makes sense; have you checked your battery and alternator? Could be a flaky connection somewhere too. So frustrating!
