Kalos Power Windows Not Working After Battery Change
Summary of the thread
After changing the battery in a 2005 Chevrolet Kalos, the power windows stopped working, and an error was stored in the memory. This issue is likely due to the window regulator losing its initialization, a common problem after a power interruption. A suggested solution is to perform a window reset procedure, which involves holding the window switch down and then up for a few seconds. If unfamiliar with this process, it is recommended to visit a workshop for professional assistance.

Window reset procedure? I haven't tried anything yet, because I don't even know what that is. What do you mean by holding the window switch down? For how long? I don't know which error code it is; just that there is an error.

Yes, it often requires a specific procedure to re-initialize the window regulators after a power interruption. Some vehicles also need a scan tool to start the relearn procedure. Given that you are not familiar with the procedure, I suggest you get this checked at your local workshop. They should be able to re-initialize the regulators for you.

OK, thanks! Will do. I took it to the workshop. They told me it was the window regulator, and the total repair cost was 290€ Appreciate the help!

Sounds like the window regulator lost its initialization after the battery change. This is common. Have you tried the window reset procedure? Often it involves holding the window switch down for a few seconds, then up for a few seconds. Does the error code point specifically to a regulator?
