Kalos Reduced Engine Power
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Chevrolet Kalos is experiencing reduced engine power and an illuminated check engine light, suspected to be due to a defective throttle valve. The issue may also involve the accelerator pedal module or faulty electronics. A similar case was resolved by replacing a faulty electronic component in the throttle valve, which restored the vehicle's performance.

Yeah, there is a definite response delay. Engine idling seems normal, though. What exactly was the issue with your Kalos when you had the same symptoms?

Sounds like we had the same problem. For me, it ended up being the throttle valve. There was some electronic component inside that had gone bad. It's probably best to get it checked out at a workshop.

Thanks for the tip! Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on; it was the throttle valve. Repair cost me 265€. Runs like new now.

I had something similar happen to my Kalos. Check engine light and sluggish response. Have you noticed any delay when you press on the accelerator? Also, does the engine idle smoothly or is it rough?
