Kangoo audio system failure

Good questions! Yeah, it's the original factory stereo. I haven't pulled it out to check the connections yet – pain in the butt! Nothing lights up at all, completely dead. That's why I was leaning toward the speaker being the culprit, maybe shorting something out and killing the whole system? Is that even possible?

Hmm, if absolutely nothing is lighting up, and the fuses are all good, then yeah, a short is plausible, but honestly, it sounds more like the head unit itself has given up the ghost. Given the age of the Kangoo, it might just be time for a new one. Still, without proper testing gear, you're kinda shooting in the dark. I'd suggest popping down to a reputable car audio shop; they'll be able to diagnose it properly for a small fee.

Cheers for the advice! Bit the bullet and took it to a local workshop. You were spot on – the head unit was toast! Quoted me 280€ for a replacement, which I okayed. At least I'll have some tunes again!

Whoa, radio silence is never good! But a completely dead system is a bit strange for just a blown speaker, isn't it? Does your Kangoo have an aftermarket stereo or is it the factory one? Have you tried wiggling the connections behind the unit to see if maybe something just came loose? And does anything light up at all, or is it just completely dark?
