Kangoo Camshaft Sensor Issue

My 2008 Renault Kangoo diesel is a pain to start, misfires, and has low power. It's got 108704 km on the clock. OBD reader shows a camshaft sensor error. Wiring and plug look OK, but I suspect the cable or plug connection. Anyone else seen this?

Had similar symptoms on my Kangoo. Check the camshaft sensor itself, and the wiring loom where it runs near the engine. They can get brittle and crack from heat.

Thanks! Did you replace the sensor, or just the wiring? Any rough idling or stalling with the starting problem?

Replaced the sensor and repaired damaged wiring. A bad sensor can throw off timing, causing rough running, hard starts, and power loss. I'd recommend a workshop diagnosis and repair.

Appreciate the advice! The local shop found a dodgy camshaft sensor connection, like we thought. New sensor and wiring repair cost 95€. Runs great now!
