Kangoo central locking and antenna issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Renault Kangoo is experiencing central locking issues and requires the key in the ignition to start, suspected to be due to a faulty bumper antenna or its connections. Poor FM reception supports the antenna malfunction theory. A similar case confirmed the antenna module was the problem, suggesting professional repair is the best solution.

Yep, the FM reception is very poor. Sounds like a faulty antenna. Did you have the same symptoms – central locking malfunction and key-in-ignition – from an antenna issue? Any details on how you fixed it?

Yep, pretty much exactly the same. The central locking going bonkers was the first sign. I messed around trying to find a short in the wiring, but honestly, it was a pain. Eventually, I caved and took it to a workshop. They confirmed the antenna module was fried. Best bet is probably bite the bullet and get it sorted professionally.

Thanks for confirming. Looks like a workshop visit is needed. I appreciate the insight and will get the bumper antenna and connections checked and replaced. I'll post the outcome for others.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Kangoo. Is your FM reception also completely shot? 'Cause mine was. I bet your car thinks it's being stolen, hence the ignition thing. Definitely sounds like antenna woes!
