Kangoo climate control failure
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Renault Kangoo Electric experienced a complete failure of the climate control panel, with low heating output and non-functional air conditioning. Despite checking the fuses, the issue persisted, leading to suspicions of a defective cable or plug connection. Suggestions included inspecting the electrical connectors, particularly the wiring harness to the climate control unit, and checking the power supply and temperature sensors. Ultimately, a workshop diagnosis revealed a corroded connector in the wiring harness, which was repaired for 95€.

Thank you for your swift response. When you say 'power supply to the unit,' are you referring to the main power cable that connects to the climate control panel itself? Also, regarding the temperature sensor, is there a specific one I should be targeting, or is it more of a general sweep for any obvious damage?

Yes, the main power cable to the control panel. Use a multimeter to test for voltage. For the temp sensor, start with the ambient temp sensor, as that often feeds into the climate control logic. Honestly, given the symptoms and error code, I'd advise taking it to a workshop. It's likely an electrical issue that requires proper diagnostics.

Understood. Thanks a lot for the advice. I had it diagnosed at the workshop, and you were right! Turns out it was a corroded connector in the wiring harness leading to the climate control unit. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. Had a similar gremlin in my old BMW 3 series some years ago. Check the electrical connectors, specifically the wiring harness leading to the climate control unit. A loose connection or corroded pin can cause havoc. Also, have you checked the power supply to the unit? Could be a faulty temperature sensor throwing everything off. Look for any damaged wires.
