Kangoo cold start issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Renault Kangoo with a gasoline engine struggles to start and runs poorly during cold starts. The initial suspicion was a faulty cold start injector. Another individual with a similar issue suggested checking the fuel system, specifically the injectors. After further investigation, it was confirmed that a defective injection valve was the cause, and replacing it resolved the cold start problems.

Thank you for your input. I have not yet attempted injector cleaning. Could you elaborate on the symptoms you observed, and confirm that the injectors were the definite cause? I would be grateful for any more information.

Yes, the hard starting and rough running only happened when the engine was cold. Once it warmed up, it ran fine. After several tests, the workshop pinpointed the issue to a defective injector valve. Replacing it resolved the cold start problems entirely. I recommend taking it to a professional.

I appreciate the confirmation. The issue was indeed a defective injection valve. The total repair cost was 515€. Your experience helped me to understand the problem. Thank you very much.

I had similar cold start problems with my Renault Kangoo, though mine is a slightly older model. It turned out to be a fuel system issue causing misfires during the initial start-up. Have you tried injector cleaning or checking the fuel pressure?
