Kangoo Crankshaft Sensor Issue

Thanks for the quick response. I haven't inspected the sensor wiring directly, but I did visually check for damage. The timing belt was replaced 60,000 km ago. Is there a specific test to confirm the crankshaft sensor?

Right, so the timing belt is fairly new, which probably rules that out. As for testing, you could try using a multimeter to check the sensor's resistance. But honestly, these things can be tricky, and the readings might not always be conclusive. Given the symptoms and the diagnostic code, it's highly likely the crankshaft sensor. To be absolutely sure, and to avoid potentially causing further damage by poking around, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop with the proper diagnostic equipment. They can hook it up to a scanner and see exactly what's going on with the signal from the sensor.

I appreciate the detailed advice. Based on your recommendations, I will take the vehicle to a trusted workshop for a comprehensive diagnosis. The estimated repair cost, including parts and labor, is approximately 340€. Thank you again for your assistance.

Crikey, that sounds like a pain! A dodgy crankshaft sensor can definitely cause those problems. The engine relies on that sensor to know the exact position of the crankshaft, which is crucial for timing the spark and fuel injection. When it goes haywire, the ECU gets confused, leading to mayhem like misfires, power loss, and increased fuel consumption. Have you checked the wiring to the sensor? Sometimes a loose connection or damaged wire can cause similar symptoms. Also, is your timing belt in good shape?
