Interesting! Scorched manifold, you say? Where exactly should I be looking for these leaks? Any specific areas on the manifold that are more prone to this?

Inspect the manifold gasket surfaces meticulously. The heat cycling of the diesel engine tends to warp the plastic over time. Considering your mileage, it might be the cause. Given the symptoms and the potential damage, you may want to take it to a workshop for a professional diagnosis and repair. I ended up having to replace mine.

Thanks a lot for the insight! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on – intake manifold was leaking like crazy due to scorching. Cost me 1180€ to get it all fixed. Runs like new now!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my Kangoo. Check for vacuum leaks, especially around the intake manifold. Scorched manifold can cause those exact symptoms: engine misfire, rough running, and that check engine light. Definitely investigate the air intake system.
