Kangoo Fog Sensor AC Issues

I have a 2001 Renault Kangoo with a diesel engine. I'm seeing a strange issue that I think is the fog sensor. The instrument cluster shows an error, the AC won't turn on, the windscreen washer nozzles freeze even when it's not that cold, and the mirror heating doesn't work. I'm thinking it's a bad cable or plug. Has anyone else had all these problems at once? I checked fuses, wiring, and looked for corrosion, but the error is still there.

Summary of the thread

A 2001 Renault Kangoo is experiencing multiple issues, including an error on the instrument cluster, non-functional AC, frozen windscreen washer nozzles, and non-working mirror heating. The suspected cause is a faulty fog sensor, possibly due to a bad cable or plug. Despite checking fuses, wiring, and corrosion, the problem persists. A suggestion was made to check the humidity sensor, but the owner plans to consult a technician for a definitive diagnosis and repair.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey! I drive a Kangoo too, but I'm not sure what year mine is. Your issues sound like what I had last winter. My AC was dead, and the heated mirrors didn't work. The windscreen wash was frozen! I never got any error messages though. Maybe it's different sensors? Did you check the humidity sensor? Maybe that's it.

About the humidity sensor, can you tell me where it is in the car and how you checked it? Could I use a multimeter to test its resistance or voltage? Also, did your scan tool show a specific error code for it?

Honestly, I don't know enough to tell you how to test it or where it is! I messed with it a bit, but I just took it to a local shop, and they fixed it fast. You should take it to someone who knows what they're doing.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Since there are so many symptoms, and it could be complicated, I'll take it to a technician. I'll post what the problem was, in case it helps someone else. The repair should cost around 95€, including parts.
