Kangoo fuel flap release failure

My 2005 Renault Kangoo, gasoline engine, has a fuel flap release that won't work. I get an error, and locking/unlocking is impossible. Some car functions seem affected too. Defective linkage or cable release perhaps? Anyone else seen this?

Summary of the thread

The 2005 Renault Kangoo has a fuel flap release failure, with an error preventing locking and unlocking, affecting other car functions. Possible causes include defective linkage, cable release, or electrical issues with the release button. A workshop visit is suggested to diagnose and resolve the problem efficiently.

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra; the fuel filler door wouldn't open. Is it electrical, maybe the release button itself is faulty?

Was it a total failure like mine, or intermittent? Did you have other electrical issues at the same time?

danielheld73

Yep, total failure. Wouldn't budge. No other weird electrical issues though. Honestly, I just took it to a workshop in the end. Saved myself a lot of grief.

Right, workshop visit it is then. Sounds like chasing down the electricals myself could be a rabbit hole. I'll post what they find. Cheers!
