Kangoo Fuel Pump Issue

My 2019 Renault Kangoo diesel is having issues. Sometimes it won't start, or it stalls when idling. The check engine light is on, and it's running rough, burning more fuel than usual. The reader shows fuel pump error codes. Anyone had similar issues? Could it be a dodgy fuel injector cable?

Sounds like fuel starvation. Could be a clogged fuel filter restricting flow to the pump, or the pump itself is failing. A faulty fuel pressure regulator could also cause stalling. Check the fuel pump relay and its wiring first. Have you noticed any unusual noises from the fuel tank area?

Thanks for the quick reply! Unusual noises... hmm, not really, but I'll listen more closely. Where is the fuel pump relay located? And is there an easy way to check if the fuel pump is getting power?

Relay location varies, check your owner's manual or look for a diagram online. You can test for power at the pump connector with a multimeter while someone cranks the engine. But with those symptoms and the error code, plus the higher fuel consumption, it does sound like the pump is on its way out, or a connection to it is faulty. It's best to get it checked by a pro.

Okay, thanks for the help! It WAS just a loose connection on the fuel pump! The mechanic charged me 95€ to fix the wiring and now it runs like new. I was fearing a whole new fuel pump! So relieved it was a simple fix!
