Kangoo massage seat malfunction

I'm having a strange issue with my 2009 Renault Kangoo diesel. It's got around 87,000 km on the clock. The driver's seat has a massage function, but the switch isn't working. When I press the button, nothing happens. I've checked the fuses – all good. I even plugged in my OBD scanner and there's an error stored related to the seat massage function. I suspect it might be a cable or plug issue with the switch itself. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I had a comparable issue with my old BMW 5 series, also a massage seat. The switch seemed dead. In my case, it was a faulty connection. Did the error message specify which part of the system the fault related to?

Thanks for the quick reply! The error code was pretty generic, something like 'Massage seat circuit malfunction'. It didn't specify the exact location of the fault. In your BMW, was it difficult to access the wiring and check the connections?

Accessing the wiring wasn't too bad, but honestly, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. Unless you're very comfortable with automotive electrics, you could end up causing more damage. They'll be able to diagnose the problem properly. Going to a garage is always the safest bet.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a local shop, and you were right – it was a faulty connector under the seat. They fixed it for 95€, and now the massage function is working perfectly again!
