Thanks for the insight! I hadn't considered the wheel alignment. It was aligned a few years ago but maybe it's off now. Where on your Volvo did you find the bad connection and was the error stored in the error memory too?

The defective connection in my Volvo was located within the steering system's electrical harness. The error was indeed stored in the vehicle's error memory. Given your symptoms and error code, I would suggest having a qualified technician inspect the cable and plug connections thoroughly. It's best to ensure a proper diagnosis and repair before the issue escalates.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right. It was a faulty connector. 95€ later, it is working as expected!

I encountered comparable issues with my previous Volvo V70. The symptoms you describe mirror those I experienced. A failing connection can indeed manifest in such a manner; think of it like a loose wire in a lamp – sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Have you inspected the wheel alignment? Incorrect alignment can sometimes amplify steering issues.
