Kangoo power window regulator initialization
Summary of the thread
After replacing the battery in a 2004 Renault Kangoo diesel, the power windows stopped functioning, with an error indicating a window regulator initialization issue. Attempts to reset the system were unsuccessful. A potential cause could be a simple connection issue with the window switch, but ultimately, a workshop visit was required to perform an electronic reset of the window regulator.

Thanks. Can you explain how you checked the window switch? Did you use a multimeter or something?

No multimeter, I'm not that advanced. I just wiggled the connector and made sure it was firmly attached. I think I had to go to a workshop in the end though. The window regulator needed some kind of electronic reset they could do with their computer. Sorry I can't be more specific!

I appreciate you sharing your experience. It seems a workshop visit is necessary. The final repair cost was 290€ including VAT. The window regulator initialization was performed successfully.

I had similar window problems with my Kangoo, like the car forgot they existed. Did you check the window switch itself? It might be a simple connection issue, like a loose wire. I almost lost it before realizing it was something so basic.
