Karoq AC System Problem

I am experiencing an issue with my 2018 Skoda Karoq diesel. The air conditioning system has ceased to function. The primary symptom is the complete inability to switch on the A/C. Consequently, the system no longer provides cooling. Diagnostic scans reveal an error stored in the error memory, pointing towards undervoltage as a likely cause. Has anyone encountered similar problems?

A/C issues on the Karoq can be tricky. Have you checked the AC relay? Also, is the compressor clutch engaging? A fault in the HVAC system's pressure sensor could also cause the compressor to shut off. Any unusual noises coming from the compressor area?

Thanks for the quick response. Where exactly is the AC relay located on the Karoq? And how can I tell if the compressor clutch is engaging? I'm not familiar with the specifics of this system.

Undervoltage can definitely trigger the compressor shutdown as a failsafe. The relay location should be in the engine bay fuse box, check your manual for the exact position. Detecting clutch engagement requires a visual inspection or listening closely when the A/C is activated. If undervoltage is the confirmed cause, it is best to have a workshop check the electrical system.

Took the Karoq to a trusted workshop. They confirmed undervoltage was the culprit. The A/C compressor shut off as a protective measure. They checked the belt tensioner and AC relay, both were fine. No refrigerant leak detected. They cleared the fault codes and performed a system reset. Total cost was 240€. Thanks for the input, it helped me narrow down the possibilities.
