Key and central locking problems with the 2015 Mercedes Sprinter: Experiences and solutions requested
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Mercedes Sprinter owner is experiencing issues with the key and central locking system and seeks advice due to a previous unsatisfactory mechanic experience. A similar case involved defective cable connections to the central locking system, which were replaced to resolve the issue. Another suggestion is to inspect the door wiring for kinks or breaks, as these can also cause problems with the locking system.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply! That sounds really annoying, but it's good to know that it worked well again afterwards. Do you happen to remember how much the repair cost? And have there been any other problems or anything else you've encountered since the repair? Really grateful for your help here!

Hi, no problem! I remember that the repair cost around €155. It was quite a lot, but since the cables to the central locking system were fixed, everything has worked perfectly, absolutely no more problems. The functional restriction of the central locking system was a real stress factor, but since the visit to the mechanic everything has been fine again. So, all in all, it was absolutely worth it. Hope you can solve your problem soon!

Great, thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful. I'll ask my garage to check the cables to the central locking system. 155 seems like a fair price if everything works fine afterwards. Your post has definitely helped me reduce the stress. I'll let you know how it went later. Thanks again!

Hey, My tip would also be to start by checking the door wiring. The cables between the door and the body often kink and are then broken.

Hi buddy! I had the same problem with my 2012 Mercedes Sprinter. It turned out that the fault was "cable connection defective". The problem was with the cables that connected to the central locking system, not in the central locking system itself. My garage had to replace these cables and then everything worked perfectly again. But it was really annoying because the fault was not easy to find. It wasn't exactly a small problem, but after the repair everything worked perfectly. Hope this helps you!
