Kia Bongo Diesel Stalling Issue When Accelerating

Hello, I own a 2014 Kia Bongo with a diesel engine and 52,864 km on the clock. I've been experiencing some issues with it. The check engine light is on, and the vehicle stalls while idling. It takes a few swings to start, but once it does, it idles without dying, albeit a bit rough. The main problem is that when I try to rev the engine, it immediately cuts off. After the engine dies, it starts again and idles well, but the moment I touch the accelerator pedal, it cuts off again. I've tried idling it until it reaches operating temperature, but the issue persists. Does anyone have any insights or suggestions on what might be causing this problem?

Summary of the thread

A 2014 Kia Bongo diesel engine is experiencing stalling issues when accelerating, with the check engine light on and rough idling. The problem could be due to a clogged or dirty fuel filter, which restricts fuel flow. Replacing the fuel filter is suggested as a potential solution to improve the vehicle's performance.

Start by checking the fuel filter for any clogs or dirt, as a restricted fuel flow can cause stalling and rough idling. If the filter is dirty, replace it and see if the problem improves. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!
