Kicks Engine Running Rough

Hey, I'm having trouble with my 2023 Nissan Kicks with a gasoline engine. It's got about 160031 km on it. Lately, the engine's been running really rough, and it sometimes stalls when I'm idling. Plus, the check engine light is on, and it feels like the car is jerking when I try to accelerate. Any ideas what could be causing this? I've checked the spark plugs, and they seem okay.

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Nissan Kicks is experiencing rough engine performance, stalling at idle, and jerking during acceleration, with the check engine light on. The issue may be due to a defective ignition coil pack, causing misfires and engine hesitation. It is suggested to test the coil packs using a multimeter or consult a mechanic for a professional diagnosis to address potential electrical complications.

That sounds frustrating. I've experienced something similar with my Kicks. The symptoms you describe point towards an ignition issue, possibly a defective coil pack. Have you had the chance to check the coil packs? A failing coil pack can cause misfires, leading to a rough idle, stalling, and the check engine light illuminating. Engine hesitation is another common symptom.

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't specifically checked the coil packs themselves. How would I go about testing them to see if that's the problem?

Testing coil packs usually involves using a multimeter to check for resistance, or swapping them around to see if the misfire follows the coil. However, based on your description, a faulty cable or plug connection could also be the root cause. Given the potential for electrical complications, I suggest taking it to a qualified workshop for diagnosis. It cost me around 95€ to get it sorted including parts and labor.

Okay, I appreciate the advice! I'll take it to a local mechanic to have the ignition coils checked and the cable or plug connections. Hopefully, it's a simple fix. Thanks again for your help!
