Kicks exhaust temperature sensor issue

I'm having a bizarre issue with my 2019 Nissan Kicks with a gasoline engine. It’s got 191434 km on the clock. Lately, the check engine light keeps popping on, and I've noticed a definite dip in engine power. Fuel consumption is also noticeably higher. I've run diagnostics, and it points to a faulty exhaust temperature sensor. Could this be related to a potential leak in the exhaust system? Anyone else experienced similar?

Reduced engine power and check engine light? Sounds familiar. I own a Kicks as well. Did you happen to notice any temperature fluctuation readings during diagnostics, especially unusual spikes?

Temperature fluctuation, you say? I recall seeing some inconsistent readings from the heat sensor, yes. But what does that say about the source of the problem really?

That confirms what I suspected. I had a similar issue, and while the sensor was flagging, the actual culprit was a small crack in the exhaust manifold. Get it checked at a reliable workshop, that sensor replacement will be 265€, it's not worth doing it yourself.

Thanks a lot for the insight! I took it to my local trusted workshop, and you were spot on. Small crack in the exhaust manifold triggered the sensor. 265€ later, all sorted and running smoothly again.
